Holiday 2009

As with most families, the holidays have been very busy for us. We went to Parma for Thanksgiving, Brent's birthday at the beginning of December, I flew to San Diego for a conference, plus Christmastime. We're hoping the new year will bring a little relaxation before our baby arrives in April.
Here are a few pictures from the past couple months. I'll have a few more of Carlee in her Christmas dresses, but I'll post them later. Happy New Year to all!

Photos Only!

Long Time, No Post

I started this blog with the best of intentions. I've been quite lax about posting new pictures and keeping it updated. This working mom thing is for the birds!

Carlee is growing like crazy. She's walking, albeit like Frankenstein, but she thinks she's big. She tests her boundaries from time to time, and has learned the word "no" well. It's so hard not to chuckle at her when she shakes her head no after you tell her no. She really is a delight, and has quite the personality. Her favorite stuffed animal has moved from the pink lion to the yellow duck. She loves being chased in the living room. The twinkle in her eyes when she peeks back to see if you're still chasing her is the most beautiful thing I've seen. She "ran" her 2nd race on May 9. I did the 2-mile MT Women's Run in Billings with some ladies from work and Carlee rode the stroller. She was rewarded for finishing with a trip to Red Lobster! Yes, friends, our kid can eat! She especially liked the shrimp!

Anyway, she'll be waking up from her nap soon, so here are an assortment of pictures from the past couple months. Enjoy!

Girl time

I love having a daughter. Really. There are so many fun things to do with a girl, especially a girl and her mom. It can be as simple as shopping. Yesterday, my mom, Carlee and I went shopping. Carlee loves to shop. My little social butterfly likes to flirt with anyone who makes eye contact. She's an angel too. We were out for several hours and she was good as gold. (which makes it more fun for mom to shop).

But Sundays usually have some girl time. Brent plays basketball on most Sundays. Most of the time, it conflicts with Carlee's morning nap, so we stay home. This is when we have girl time. One week, Carlee and I jammed out to some tunes. She danced in her little johnny jumper like she was a rock star. I even took a video of her dancing to Cyndi Lauper. (Good taste, eh?) Today was gorgeous outside. I took my girls (Carlee and Nikki) for a walk to enjoy the sunshine. The girly stuff started after we got home. I painted Carlee's toenails. She's a pretty wiggly girl, and we had a couple schmucks on a big toe. Brent walked in when I was nearly finished. "What are you doing?!?" he asks when I am down on my hands and knees with my face almost on the floor. I'm sure it was a comical sight. Nevertheless, Carlee has great hot pink toenails. Maybe I'll paint mine to match!

Welcome to our family blog!

I tossed around creating a website for our family to give updates and post pictures, but decided I simply don't have the time. One of my co-workers suggested a blog.....so here I am. I'll do my best to keep our blog updated with any exciting news, but mostly of pictures of Carlee.

It's been just about a year since we found out we were having a baby girl. I look back and can't believe how fast the time has gone. Our little Carlee is babbling up a storm, wanting to stand, and growing her 1st tooth! Her little grin is the highlight of my day. I think Brent is enjoying his time with her more than he admits. He can get her to make silly faces (that she won't make for mom). Fortunately for technology, I receive pictures and videos on my phone.
Anyway, here are a few pictures from the past few weeks. Note the play date pictures. Lucky girls get to play together when the mommies are working and the daddies have the day off!
